On Friday 14th June 8AG along with Miss Richards and Mr Agnew explored the Wigram Airforce Museum. Our first session was a scavenger hunt around the museum (the Atrium, Aircraft Hall, Horizon to Horizon gallery), we then went into the classroom with Chris Davey to learn about the Home Front and the War in the Pacific, we visited the Pacific Simulator room. Our last session was a 'behind the scenes tour' of the aircraft hanger and we saw many aspects of the Wigram Museum in the past and the restoration happening now. A great day had by all.

We had a wonderful Y8 trip to the Airforce Museum on Thursday 11th September. We received this wonderful email feedback from Chris the Education Officer... Dear Sir,Yesterday we had three of your Year 8 classes visit the Air Force Museum of New Zealand for an EOTC excursion. This is just a quick email to say how awesome your students were! I teach around 5,000 students per year and these were some of the nicest, well-mannered, engaged and pleasant students I have had the pleasure of dealing with for some time. My congratulations to you, your staff and your families. We look forward to further visits from your school. Kind Regards, Chris Chris Davey Education Officer Please now reflect on your time at the museum and write about 3 significant learning moments. Add detail to your statements to explain the experience. Visit the website http://www.airforcemuseum.co.nz |
